Why focus your nutrition specifically on Heart Health?

  • Your heart is the most important muscle in your body. Because your heart is central to life, it is the first muscle to receive nutrition and it always receives the best nutrition that is available at any given moment.

  • Every day, a healthy heart beats 100,000 times: sending 2,000 gallons of blood through 60,000 miles of blood vessels to supply nutrients to every other part of your body. The only time your heart rests is between beats!

Your HEART absorbs nutrients very quickly for the reason that your body’s PRIMARY concern is to keep it BEATING!

“THE HEART IS THE MOST REFLECTIVE MUSCLE OF BALANCED NUTRITION OR MALNUTRITION, SOMETHING THIS COUNTRY HAS A HARD TIME ACCEPTING.” -- Dr. Royal Lee, Wisconsin, 1939

Dr. Lee fully realized the significance of the heart as a diagnostic indicator so he designed and introduced the Endocardiograph, an earlier version of the Heart Sound Recorder (HSR). The HSR is a tool to record the very distinct sounds and rhythms of the four heart valves.  Healthy muscular contractions have easily identifiable patterns. An HSR evaluation will allow us to record and review your heart rhythms and patterns, and any deviations from ideal images can provide us with the insight into specific nutritional deficiencies you and your heart could be facing.

What happens at a Heart Health Nutrition appointment?

Our Heart Health Nutritional evaluations place the focus of guiding your health enhancement through improving the Rate, Rhythm and Tone of your cardiac muscle.

Heart Rate – Is it too fast, too slow, or, just right?

Heart Rhythm – Is it consistently steady? Is your heart resting twice as long as it's working?

Heart Tone – Is it STRONG and without signs of weakness?

The HSR evaluation itself is a 15 minute reading that is conducted by placing the highly specialized microphone at four strategic places on your chest to best record the specific movements of each of the valves of your heart:

Tricuspid valve • Pulmonic valve • Mitral valve • Aortic valve

This is a non-invasive, painless assessment that provides valuable, recognizable readouts—and you will receive a thorough explanation of what we’re seeing in your results. We will take the time to explain, in the most understandable terms possible, what your heart’s •Rate •Rhythm and •Tone are saying about your nutrition and overall health. We will also build you a personalized Designed Clinical Nutrition program based upon the Heart Sound Recorder results and any other clinical concerns.

What is the Heart Sound Recorder?

The HEART SOUND RECORDER is a general wellness cardiac stress monitor with a specialized microphone that is placed over each of the four valve areas of the heart to graph the sound and movement of the heart so that the rate, rhythm, and tone of the heart may be evaluated.

Dr. Lee, the developer of the original technology, determined which whole food nutrients would restore the correct rate, rhythm and tone of the heart. Then, when proper nutrition is supplied to the body, the improvement in the heart is reflected in subsequent graphs, often within minutes.

The HSR graph can be an important tool in evaluating your overall health and also to follow the progress you are making when under proper nutritional care.

How will we know if there’s improvement?

"The heart is the best proxy of the nutritional status of the entire body. It receives the complete blood supply every minute and it gets first choice of what {nutrition} is available."--Dr. George Goodheart, 2006

One of the many advantages of our HSR assessments is that your previous graphs will provide an immediate visual comparison to the changes in your heart’s rate, rhythm and tone. It is quite common for a patient’s Designed Clinical Nutrition program to evoke significant and visible changes in function between assessments. We generally recommend HSR readings are taken at 3-4 week intervals in the first few months. If you are like our other patients, when you see how obvious it is that your nutrition is working, your second Heart Health Nutrition evaluation is likely to be even more motivating than your first!

How important is it to stick to my program?

Whether we want to admit it or not, most chronic health problems did not suddenly develop overnight. They developed over years of stress and worry, improper nutrition, environmental toxins, medication use, and unhealthy lifestyle habits. Decades of clinical experience point us to the reality that any of these can be at the root of the condition that brings our patients to us. Health problems not only “set in” with time and repetition, the most straightforward and reliable way to rebuild your vitality is to therapeutically apply the same principles of time and repetition!

That being acknowledged, using the Heart Sound Recorder as an assessment tool can provide tremendous encouragement even in early stages of health recovery—because, as we’ve now learned:

THE HEART EATS FIRST, AND IS GIVEN THE BEST OF THE NUTRITION TO RECOVER FIRST!
